Terry O’Brien started in the music business in artist management in the early 1990s working as assistant to London-based mainstream music artist managers and running the acoustic music club Playpen in Earls Court which hosted early performances by KT Tunstall, Tom Baxter and more. She won the Music Managers’ Forum Export Award in 2003 and the same year started Playpen Management and Agency, specialising in folk, roots and acoustic music. She is now based in Kent in England representing a packed roster of award-winning artists performing in the UK and worldwide. She is also producer of English Folk Expo , the annual industry showcase of contemporary and traditional English folk, roots and acoustic music.
